Sign-in and Authentication
How sign-in works on Video Tap.
Sign-in options
Section titled “Sign-in options”- Email and password
- Google sign-in: use any Google account
There is no SAML or Enterprise SSO option today.
Email verification
Section titled “Email verification”After registering with email and password, you’ll receive a verification email. You need to click the link before you can fully use Video Tap.
Reset your password
Section titled “Reset your password”- From the login page, click Forgot your password?
- Enter your email.
- Check your inbox (and spam folder) for a reset link.
- Set a new password and sign in.
If you don’t get the email within a few minutes:
- Check spam and promotions tabs.
- Confirm the email matches the account you originally registered.
- Email support@videotap.com if it doesn’t arrive.
Two-factor authentication
Section titled “Two-factor authentication”Two-factor authentication is available using a TOTP authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, and similar). SMS codes are not supported.
To enable 2FA:
- Go to Profile.
- Find the Two Factor Authentication section.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
- Save the recovery codes that appear. You’ll need them if you lose access to your authenticator.
Session management
Section titled “Session management”You can sign out of every browser session except your current one. Go to Profile, find Browser Sessions, and click Log Out Other Browser Sessions.
API tokens
Section titled “API tokens”If you use the Video Tap public API, generate and manage personal access tokens in Dashboard → API Keys. Tokens are scoped to the team you generate them in. You can revoke any token from the same page.
Common issues
Section titled “Common issues”“My Google login isn’t working”
- Make sure you’re signed into the correct Google account in your browser.
- Try an incognito window to rule out cached sessions.
“I’m getting ‘Email not found’”
- You may have registered with a different email. Check your inbox for the original Video Tap welcome email.
- If you originally used Google sign-in, use the Google option, not the email/password form.
