Playbook: Repurpose a Podcast Episode
Turn a 60-minute podcast into a week of social content in under 30 minutes.
What you’ll get
Section titled “What you’ll get”From one upload, Video Tap produces:
- 4–10 short clips (60–90 sec each) for TikTok / Reels / Shorts
- 7 tweet variants
- 5 LinkedIn posts
- 5 email subject lines
- A blog post (3,000+ words)
- Show notes, chapters, and a YouTube description
The flow
Section titled “The flow”1. Upload the MP4 (or audio file)
Section titled “1. Upload the MP4 (or audio file)”Drag the file into Add Videos. Audio-only files (MP3, WAV) work fine; you’ll get the text content but not video clips. For clips, upload the video version.
2. Add custom vocabulary
Section titled “2. Add custom vocabulary”In the upload settings, paste the names of your guest, your brand, and any product or technical terms that come up. This dramatically improves transcript quality, which feeds every other content type.
3. Start processing and walk away
Section titled “3. Start processing and walk away”A 60-minute episode usually finishes in 10–20 minutes.
4. Review and ship clips first (highest leverage)
Section titled “4. Review and ship clips first (highest leverage)”Clips are the highest-impact output. Open the Clips tab and:
- Skim the auto-generated clips, keep the 3–5 strongest hooks
- For each, click Switch to 9:16 or 1:1 under Smart Reframe and pick 9:16 (this auto-applies a Fill crop to every scene)
- Pick a caption theme that matches your brand
- Render and download
5. Schedule social posts
Section titled “5. Schedule social posts”The Twitter and LinkedIn tabs each give you ready-to-post variants. Tweak voice, add a clip thumbnail, queue them in your scheduler (Buffer, Hypefury, etc.).
6. Publish the blog post
Section titled “6. Publish the blog post”The Blog tab gives you a full-length post tied to the episode. Add your CTA, drop in 1–2 clip embeds, publish on your site.
7. Send the show-notes email
Section titled “7. Send the show-notes email”Use the email subject line variants and the show notes section to send your subscriber email.

- Edit the transcript first if you spot errors. Fixes there propagate to clip captions and blog accuracy.
- Custom blog prompt in Settings lets you enforce house style across every episode.
- Save clip caption settings by re-using the same theme across episodes for visual consistency.
