What you can and can’t do from a phone or tablet.
Video Tap is built for desktop. The web app works on mobile browsers for viewing and light editing, but heavy work (clip editing, rendering, transcript editing) is much faster on a desktop.
What works well on mobile

- Downloading already-rendered clips to share natively in TikTok or Instagram apps
- Checking processing status while you wait for a video to finish
- Reading transcripts
What’s harder on mobile

- Transcript editing: fine for small fixes, slow for full passes
- Uploading large files: mobile upload speeds and the 4 GB file cap make desktop the better choice
- Bulk operations: designed for desktop selection patterns
Recommended mobile workflow
Section titled “Recommended mobile workflow”- Process on desktop, review on mobile.
- Use mobile to share clips natively. Download the MP4 in your mobile browser, then upload directly to TikTok or Instagram from your camera roll.
- For quick transcript fixes, the mobile editor handles single-word corrections fine. Save longer edits for desktop.
